OUR Story

Faith Baptist was organized on May 11, 1980 for the purpose of glorifying God in the proclaiming of the Gospel, and edifying Christians through the teaching of God’s Word. The founding pastor, Fred Allred, envisioned a church that was passionate about winning souls to Christ, helping families, and having a strong emphasis on worldwide missions.

The first meeting of Faith Baptist Tabernacle was held in a small community room in the Spring of 1980 with 19 people present. There were 30 charter members at the organizational meeting. The congregation thereafter repaired an old commercial building on Main Street which served as its place of worship until September of 1993. During this time, the church purchased property on Highway 127 South in Jamestown and began construction on its new facility in 1987. The project was completed  in September of 1993. Dedication for the new building was held May 15, 1994.

In 1998, after much prayer, Faith Baptist Tabernacle took a further step of faith and began Faith Christian Academy with an awareness of the need for Christian education for our children. We began truly as a step of "Faith" with an enrollment of 8 students. We have seen God allow us to grow from a pre-school and daycare into a pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade school with 73 students currently. In the spring of 2002, we began construction on a new addition to the church which would accommodate our school, expanded nursery facilities, fellowship, and educational space for the church. God has richly blessed the efforts of this group of believers in each area of ministry, for which we are so grateful.

Missions has always been a very important part of the church, with frequent visits from missionaries. The church gives support to over 75 missionaries and missionary projects all across the world. Many people, especially young people, have been saved and lives have been touched and blessed through the ministries of Faith Baptist Tabernacle. We give all the glory, honor, and praise to our Lord!

With incredible unity, on January 27, 2019, Faith Baptist Tabernacle voted to call Pastor Josh Grubbs to be their Senior Pastor. Pastor Josh will be only the second pastor to lead this congregation. His desire is to continue a ministry that will focus on seeing people trust in Jesus as their Savior, grow in their faith, and serve the church, community, and world.
